Approval process for Maritime Training Institutes under STCW guidelines
Maritime Training Institutes seeking approval to conduct STCW courses and issue training certificates must undergo a comprehensive approval process. This ensures that all training provided meets international standards and STCW Convention requirements.

Expert Team Audit
An audit will be conducted by a Nodal expert team of STCW Implementation appointed by the Directorate of Seafarers. This comprehensive evaluation ensures that the institute meets all required standards and guidelines.
Approval Criteria
The audit team evaluates the institute based on STCW guidelines, including:

- • Course curriculum and materials
- • Assessment procedures
- • Quality management systems
- • Record keeping and documentation
Upon Successful Audit
Upon successful completion of the audit, the Maritime Training Institute (MTI) will be granted approval to conduct approved courses and issue training certificates in accordance with STCW standards.
